Spanning a 25 square mile, Altun Ha is made up of two central plazas surrounded by towering temples that enclose the palm strewn land. Jade, jewelry, flints and skins are among the three hundred remnants.

LAMANAI |
Lamanai is cradled on the shores of the New River Lagoon and is thought to be the largest Mayan ceremonial site in the region. Expanding over a huge expanse on the Belize New River, Lamanai boasts over 800 structures deep in the lush jungle. Lamanai, meaning “Submerged Crocodile” in Mayan, was occupied as early as 1500 B.C. and the small onsite museum has precious artifacts on display portraying well over 2000 years of Mayan History.

XUNANTUNICH |
The Xunantunich archeological site actually rests atop on one of the highest plateaus in the area which only adds to the incredible views when you venture to the top of "El Castillo", the largest of the temples at this site.

CARACOL |
Caracol, a Classic Period complex, covers 30-square miles of thick, high-canopy jungle, and includes five plazas, an astronomic observatory and over 35,000 buildings which have been identified.

*Please note that these inland tours can be done by leaving the island on the 7:00am Water Taxi. Your tour guide will be waiting for you at the water taxi terminal in Belize City. After the tour, the guide will transport you back to the water taxi terminal in time for the last boat back to Caye Caulker which is at 5:30 pm. Boat ride is approximately 45 minutes each way and the cost of the boat ticket (round trip) is US$17.50 per person for adults and US$10.00 per person for kids.
